Time for a reset?
Start the new year feeling lighter, clearer and more balanced
If you’re feeling a bit foggy after the Christmas festivities, you might want to consider a gentle detox programme to help you reset. The goal is to support your body’s natural detox systems and create the right conditions for your body to thrive, so you feel lighter, clearer and more balanced.
So what are toxins?
Toxins are substances that can put stress on the body – harming our cells and interfering with normal function. Some are external, such as alcohol, pollutants, processed foods, personal care products and fragrances. Others are produced inside the body through normal processes such as digestion and metabolism.
Your body is designed to deal with these toxins naturally through the liver, kidneys, skin and lungs. But when the toxin load from all these sources is greater than your ability to process and eliminate them, you’ll start to notice the signs.

The signs that you should look out for
Here are some of the most common signs you have a toxin overload:
- Consistently low energy, even after sleeping well
- Bloating, constipation, gas, heartburn, sluggish digestion and irregular bowel movements
- Acne, eczema, rashes, dull or inflamed skin
- Frequent colds, infections and inability to heal quickly from illness or injury
- Persistent body odour, even with good hygiene
- PMS symptoms, irregular cycles or low libido
- Frequent headaches or migraines
- Cravings for sugar, carbohydrates or processed foods
- Unexplained weight gain or difficulty losing weight
- Anxiety, mood swings and brain fog
It’s not a complete list, but if you’re experiencing any of these, it might be time to give your natural detox systems a bit of a helping hand!

What is a detox?
A detox is a short-term, temporary nutritional reset – a period of time to help your body to rebalance itself. Think of it as giving your system a breather, reducing the incoming toxin load while supplying the nutrients, rest and hydration your organs need to work properly. It really isn’t about deprivation, and it’s not forever – after you have felt the benefits of the reset, you can slowly reintroduce foods – whilst being mindful of the habits that helped you to feel better!
